"9 Elements Of Inner Vision":

'There have been quite some surprises lately... EYEFEAR is another such band.' '... they perform this rather technical music in a very impressive manner.

'Stylewise, this reminds quite a lot of the late Chuck Schuldiner's Prog Metal band Control Denied, both in terms of vocal lines and song structures. This is quite Progressive stuff, with time changes aplenty and a guitarist with balls to go past traditional power-chords, experimenting with broader chordal pallets. The keys are also integrated in the music in a very good manner, and the rhythm section provides us with some very catchy grooves. Luckily, the band has not forgotten the importance of melody, and Cecati offers quite some nice vocal lines throughout (also check out the awesome screams in a.o. "Where Clouds Divide").'

'... there are lots of cool things going on here, and this band has potential to go very far.'

METAL EXPRESS webzine (Norway)

'This is definitely the most played album at my home at the moment. "9 Elements Of Inner Vision" has hardly been out of my CD player the past month or so. This is progressive metal performed exactly the way this kind of music is supposed to sound. It's easy to draw
parallels to older Dream Theater material and also to Pagan's Mind, which should give you an idea of what to expect. The song material is exceptionally strong all through the album, the production is crystal clear and the bands technical abilities are quite impressing. EYEFEAR is based in Australia and as far as I know "9 Elements Of Inner Vision" is their second full length album. Singer Danny Cecati, who some may recognize from the band Pegazus, makes an impressing performance and his voice suits the music just perfect. I don't really know what more to say about this absolutely brilliant album except from that I'm sure it will bring EYEFEAR up in the progressive metal elite division if there's any justice left in this world. Buy or die people, buy or die!'

'EYEFEAR from Down Under deliver their best work by now called "9 Elements Of Inner Vision". With their new vocalist Danny Cecati (former PEGAZUS) they have found the right guy to perform their progressive song material. Thank God, the three songs of their 2003 demo tape are included here as well. This album is a real grower every time you listen to it. Con's guitar work is beyond doubt and Danny's one of the best of his kind since years. The closing track of the album, "Beyond The Twilight", is the outstanding highlight showing the band's complete abilities and urging the listener to press the "repeat" button immediately. If you're into bands like SYMPHONY X this one's a definite MUST.'

'Although I've always been a fanatic power/speed metal maniac, I still need some changes in times when the overcrowded power/speed metal scene grabs me by the throat and makes me gasping for air. One undiscovered scene - in my case - definitely is the progressive melodic power metal scene. Although this style of metal certainly is not my cup of tea, there still is the existence of a few rare bands who are able to put my heart into a higher gear. One of them surely is EYEFEAR, a band with an own identifiable sound and definitely not "just another" number from the countless Dream Theater done-list. With "9 Elements Of Inner Vision", containing ten powerful progressive oriented melodic power metal compositions, EYEFEAR (not Lanfear) unveils the healthy balance between classical arrangements, combined with heavy metal oriented guitar riffs and a variety of tempo changes. In fact the technical wizard is perfectly balanced by spherical ballads, modest progressive tunes or even driven or up-tempo variations. Check this album out,  and find out why EYEFEAR will surprise the metal scene as perhaps "the" new prog- metal sensation.'

'... Sophisticated, yet catchy high-level guitar work that is full of power meets a very exceptional singer, who perfectly transposes the gloomy mood of the songs and lyrics. The whole thing is supported by fantastic rhythms, with especially striking drumming, and by keyboards, which adds more volume and intensifies the atmosphere. To cut a long story short, the listener gets a full load of ambitious, gloomy Power-Prog.

'The album is rounded off by a very well done cover artwork by Mattias Norén (Into Eternity; Jag Panzer; Evergrey). Said exceptional singer is, incidentally, Danny Cecati, who might be known through the Australian Powermetal band Pegazus. Vocally restricted with them, this guy can now prove his class with EYEFEAR. Just listen to “Illumination Fades”. Goosebumps guaranteed!'

'... it’s a truly fantastic disc I can recommend to all fans of progressive Powermetal, and especially to fans of Evergrey!'

"9 Elements Of Inner Vision" (pre-release):

'Dear EYEFEAR! Congratulations with the album "9 Elements Of Inner Vision"... This is a smack in the face and is one of the best albums in months (and I hear a lot of new stuff every day!). Support in Overdrive is no problem at all!! Good music deserves support and EYEFEAR will be aired in November very frequently!!'

'This is how I think Progressive Power Metal inspired by some old-school American US metal bands should sound like! And it's played by an Australian band - go figure! When I listen to this excellent effort, I come to think of some my favourite US power metal albums like: Lethal's "Programmed" and Deadly Blessing's "Ascending From The Cauldron" or some the earlier stuff from Steel Prophet, and this album doesn't need to hide from any of those! Actually, I think this album has every chance to fill the void left behind by Steel Prophet, after their last few very poor albums. So if you were left bewildered by the lack of speed metal quality on the last Steel Prophet album ("Beware"), then look no further, because this album gives you just that and then some...

'What strikes me most is the vocal performance of Danny Cecati, whom some of you might know from his days in Pegazus, he comes across like the perfect combination between Ski (Deadly Blessing), Tom Malicoat (Lethal) and Rick Mythiasin (ex-Steel Prophet) - at times he gives me the chills - believe me, he's that good!

'Musically, this is also just so brilliant that I am almost lost for words: fast and furious guitars, great drumming, oozing keyboards, cool guitar leads, great songs and ... this is just high quality metal. To pick out one song would be putting others down, but I have to comment on the highlight to me on this album: "While The World Sleeps" - a 2 part metal epic that possesses the quality be become a metal milestone. To those of you familiar with EYEFEAR's earlier releases, I can tell that they've re-arranged and re-recorded 2 songs off their "Dawn... A New Beginning" EP: "Illumination Fades" and the title track, but sadly enough not "Evermore".

'And add a great production to make this a masterpiece - produced and recorded in Australia by Endel Rivers and mixed by Andy La Rocque in his Los Angered Studios in Sweden, just brings this release up to the high level that it deserves.

'The artwork has once more been done brilliantly by Mattias Norén (he's quickly becoming my favourite cover-artist), and it just rounds off an album, that I am sure will strike the metal community like a bomb! It certainly would be a shame otherwise, this is IMHO the most surprising album of the year to me, and will without a doubt end up in my Top 5 this year! Can I say more - other than ... "BUY this album NOW!"'

'The demo of Australian EYEFEAR won't be a well-kept secret for long. The people who handle the band's business have been so sure about how well the band works that the demo hasn't been sent to any media except for the two: Germany's Rock Hard and here in Imperiumi plus a couple of record labels. Does the band have reason for this or can they have such self-confidence? Yes.'

'... I was very surprised by the quality of this release, especially knowing the recordings were four-to-five years old already. Still, this sounds fresh and more or less up to date.'
